“The course was planned well in advance. There was enough flexibility to accommodate participant’s convenience (dates and timings). The course material (PPT presentation, assignments, examples) was in place and there was no last minute rush for the same. Duration of two weeks (10 hours) was good enough to cover basic translation concepts. All the questions were answered up to participant’s satisfaction. The assignments were discussed in detail (line by line). This helped participants to understand expectations of the client and where it could go wrong. These sessions would definitely help to ‘yield’ good translators in industry. Very happy to be a participant of the course. Extremely satisfied. It would be good (not necessary but nice to have) to give a feel of corporate culture (client expectations, importance of timelines, NDAs etc.) to the participants – especially those who come from language background and are not exposed to corporate world.” Atish Kulkarni

“Programm was overall well designed and executed. Gave insight of translation process and also problems encountered during the process. Less number of participants enabled us to concentrate better and to ask the queries freely. Documents given for translation during training and internship of varied kind, it helped us to understand better the method and got well versed with the terminology. On orientation, it was told that one guest lecture would be there, probably by Mrs. Datar. But it didn't happen. We missed the opportunity to meet the legend, who translated during the time, when internet was not there. To listen her stories would have enriching. It would have been great if we got more documents to translate during the training. 10 days: 10 documents. Fee of the course was affordable and reasonable. A practical experience on other CaT tools like Trados would have been great. We liked the course and looked forward for every session. Thanks for a pleasing, enriching, learning experience. After this course, I have better confidence while doing translation.” Vaishali Ahuja

“This (Translation Orientation) course gives a proper introduction to translation. It provides information about the tools required & frequently used in translation. The terms and terminologies were well explained with appropriate examples. The session conducted by Mr. Joshi (on translation in advertising domain) was extremely interactive and gave insights about how the translation is to be done/ not done. After doing this course, I got to know the difficulties encountered while doing technical translations.” Pranav Patwardhan

One of the things I liked about the (Translation Orientation) course would be the fact that I got to learn a lot of new things about the field. The course introduced us to different techniques and gave us a hands-on experience of CAT tools. We worked on documents from different domains which was enriching as well. The session with Mr. Joshi (on translation in advertising domain), along with all the other sessions benefitted us a lot. I would definitely recommend this course.” Gauri Date
